We warmly welcome guests to our monthly meetings!
What to expect at a typical NHOS meeting:
- Friendly and welcoming Atmosphere — no pressure, even if you are a complete beginner
- An educational presentation by a guest speaker or experienced member
- Show & Tell — members bring their blooming orchids to share
- Silent Auction — a popular part of many meetings where members bid on plants, supplies, books, and orchid-related items
- Raffles — fun raffle drawings throughout the evening. As a guest, you will receive a free raffle ticket just for attending! Additional tickets are usually sold for a small amount ($1–$20). Prizes often include orchids, gift certificates, growing supplies, and other orchid-related items. It’s a great way to take home something special while supporting the society.
- Refreshments and plenty of time for informal conversations and networking
- Opportunity to Ask Questions and meet fellow orchid enthusiasts
Meetings typically last about 2 hours. You don’t need to bring anything for your first visit — just come with your curiosity!
- Just show up! No reservation needed for the first visit.
- Meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at: the Norma Hertzog Community Center: 1845 Park Ave, Costa Mesa, CA 92627.
